Patrick Latting: Success story from The Hatchery Summer Incubator

Patrick Latting

Meet Patrick Latting, a rising junior studying Business and Economics, and founder of BidBee, an online services marketplace that helps event planners find vendors, cutting out a massive amount of communication time for event planners and allowing vendors to find more jobs.

"I plan on being a career entrepreneur and am excited to get something off the ground as soon as it's feasible. I also view this as a substantial learning experience.”

BidBee was created to solve a problem in two target markets: people who sell event services and people who buy event services. Currently, the industry gives the "power of selection" to planners, leading to a lower vendor-client fit. BidBee resolves this issue by allowing event planners to post events and all the associated services that they need to be successful on the site, and local vendors can see these contracts and bid on them.

Patrick ended the summer with more than 50 customers in his beta test, completed product development and gained new confidence in his ability to build a company.
